With profound sadness we announce our beloved foundation breeding stallion was humanely euthanized after a short battle with a devastating illness which has yet to be identified. He will be greatly missed not only by us but by our students who learned advanced dressage training on him and the appreciation of riding an appaloosa and by all of those who followed his short show career around the nation in a sport greatly under represented by appaloosas.

In 2005 within 6 months of beginning his show career he had earned
ApHC ACAAP - 2nd Place Ranking in the Top Ten in Dressage
ApHC ACAAP - Certificate of Achievement in Dressage
ApHC ACAAP - Certificate of Superior Achievement in Dressage
(Plus too numerous to mention local, regional and national awards in
dressage competition)

He spent all of 2006 in training and did not show but with some of his
offspring competing successfully in dressage he was ranked the Leading
Appaloosa Sire on the USEF 2006 Leading Dressage Sires List and the only
Appaloosa sire on the USEF 2006 Leading Dressage Breeding List. Also in
2006 his son The Riddler H was the first ApHC stallion to ever qualify for a
USDF Dressage Sport Horse Breeding Award.

The beginning of 2007 was busy with breeding but we did manage to fit in 2 shows this spring where he competed under our working student who was preparing to compete on him in the USDF Young Riders series. Those performances will stick in my mind for a long time on what they would have accomplished in the show ring; the pair was breath taking to watch.

With over 50 offspring his legacy will carry on and we will cherish his memory. Hopefully some day we will see him inducted into the ApHC Hall of Fame for his accomplishments for the breed in the sport of dressage.
